Clean / washing instructions

Maintenance of the curtains is easily done by either vacuuming or brushing the fabric. If they need a little extra, we recommend dry cleaning. If you have ordered with pre-washing, they can be machine washed at 30 degrees fine wash (do not tumble dry).

  • Prepare for curtain removal.

Fold the curtain all the way down. Carefully pull it out of the curtain system using the Velcro strap at the top.

  • Cord pull or chain pull.

Once the fabric is pulled off the curtain system, the cords hang down in front of the window, ready to be reinstalled. This applies to both chain and cord retraction.

  • Place the curtain on the windowsill.

Place the curtain on the windowsill. The cords that have been pulled through the vertical pleats should now be pulled out.

  • Untie the curtain cords.

At the bottom of the curtain, untie the knots at all the nylon ends and pull the cords out of the curtain loops. The curtain is now free of the system. Remove the bottom rod from the drawstring. And it is now ready for cleaning/washing.

  • The cords need to be threaded back on.

Guide the bottom rod into place in the runner.

Place the curtain on the windowsill so that the back side with the loops is facing up.

Start from the top by the Velcro and pull the cord through all the loops all the way down.

  • String is tied on the nylon end.

The string is pulled through the nylon shutter and a knot is tied.

  • Tie the knot in the same place

Make sure to tie the knot in the same place on all the threads to get a straight winding.

  • Start in the middle when you put the curtain back up

Now the curtain is ready to be set up on the folding curtain system again. Start by attaching the Velcro tape to the center of the pole and then press it out to each side.
